My Favorite Items to Thrift

I would hate when my aunt would drag my cousin and I to Goodwill for hours while she looked through all the clothes and furniture. Fast forward to now and I cant believe it took me this long to realize how fun and rewarding thrifting is. And not to toot my own but ya girl always finds the good stuff if there's good stuff to be found. I will literally thrift for any and everything except undergarments but here a few of the items that are good to thrift if you're new to thrifting, because you are bound to find some good quality items for a fraction of the original price in these sections.

1. Leather Belts - Belts in general are great to thrift but especially leather, as they last long and you can usually find some that have been hardly worn. You can get a genuine leather belt for $2 thrifted. Tell me that is not a steal!

2. Silk Scarves - Silk scarves are expensive when bought brand new. I cannot tell you how many times I have found a 100% silk scarf while thrifting for other items. And I have never paid more than $8 for one.

3. Jeans - We all know that good quality, well fitting jeans are gonna cost you a little coin. And I do think good denim is something you should spend more on in general, but thats why I love to thrift for jeans. It may take a little more leg work and browsing but it is all worth it when you find a pair of TopShop Jaime jeans with the tag still on them for $30 instead of $75.

5.Graphic Tees/ Crewnecks - If you love the look of worn rock band tees and champion crewnecks, I would definitely suggest thrifting for these items before buying them retail. You can find so many unique, one of a kind shirts that probably aren't even sold in stores anymore. Most thrift stores have a T-shirt section ranging from $1 - $5, which is way better than paying $25 for a single shirt.

Thrifting has become a trend that I hope never goes away. While many people thrift for fashion purposes, there are many who rely on these low priced items, simply because they cannot afford to buy retail sometimes. Yes, there are many fast fashion brands out there that sell their clothing cheap, however, after a few washes these pieces are not wearable and you will find yourself spending more many than if you just bought a higher quality item. Thrifting allows you find quality pieces for reasonable prices. Not to mention clothing accounts for 80% of waste in our landfills. So do the environment a favor and thrift!
